Marshall James Knobben was brought into this world surrounded with love and joy. After a few short days of enjoying our new life together, fate took a sharp and unexpected turn.
Although Marshall appeared healthy and strong, a perfect storm brewing inside was about to reveal itself with no mercy. In the following days Marshall was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), Vein of Galen, that had developed in his brain causing a downward spiral of illnesses.
Despite the efforts, countless procedures and compassionate care from endless medical professionals working on our angel, the medical challenges were far too great for his little body. In the early hours of November 29, 2010, our precious son Marshall passed away in our arms. He was the most beautiful and amazing little boy who blessed us with love and lessons that will last a lifetime.
In his two weeks of life, Marshall was faced with more challenges than anyone should know. More importantly, Marshall also experienced more love, faith and hope then many experience in a lifetime. The love, prayers and support of family, friends and our community helped us through each day and continues to let us shine through such great darkness. We remain forever grateful for your love.
Marshall will stay in our hearts and thoughts forever. He is at peace and continues to find us in our thoughts and dreams.
" Sweet child smile upon us wherever you are,
in the heavens above or oceans afar.
Memories of our love set me free. My precious angel,
I carry you with me! "
Alanna Knobben, Carry You With Me
